Gloved Up Promotions is proud to announce the return of professional boxing to Nanaimo, B.C. Following our inaugural, and successful, show in July of last year we are back to present ‘Rumble at the Rink’ on May 2nd 2015 at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, BC. The home of the Nanaimo Clippers.

In association with The Wolf 106.9FM and Trend Diesel, ‘Rumble at the Rink’ promises to be a thrilling sequel to our show last summer. A show that featured the return of former Canadian Champion Mark ‘Machine Gun’ Woolnough and highly touted local boxers Shane ‘Shotgun’ Andreesen and Aubrey ‘Bam Bam’ Morrow.

“We’re excited to be back” said promoter Terry Strawson “We’ve had some tremendous feedback from within the local community and we are very pleased and proud to announce we will have more world class boxing for you to enjoy on May 2nd at Frank Crane Arena.”

Barrie Eget – as seen on HBO, Showtime and ESPN – has signed on the dotted line to once again guide you through an evening of world class professional boxing in Nanaimo. “I’ve been all over the US covering fights for Golden Boy and Goossen Promotions and let me tell you,” said Eget “Those fans up there in Canada are some of the best fans I’ve came across. I’m so excited to be coming back. I can’t wait.”

‘Rumble at the Rink’ promises to be the most action packed night in recent history. We are working on an explosive lineup consisting of talented fighters on both a local and international level. “Unfortunately, I cannot comment too much just yet,” said Strawson “I can say that we are working on bringing you two title fights and a bout that would literally make boxing history in Canada.”

Ticket information will be announced shortly on and prices will start as low as $20 for general admission.

‘Rumble at the Rink’ is presented by Gloved Up Promotions and sponsored by Trend Diesel in association with The Wolf 106.9FM.
